Wrenthorpe Primary School

Wrenthorpe School is an averaged sized primary school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. I was appointed as Headteacher in 2009 and was very excited to discover a school which had the potential to become outstanding.

Over the previous 3 years, staff had become a little disillusioned by school systems which were failing to get the best out of children. Progress measures were very poor.

Together with my staff, we devised a 3 year improvement plan, the primary aim: to have a positive, dramatic and sustained impact on progress and attainment. This is our impact to date which secured an Ofsted judgment of GOOD in April 2014.
