Whybridge Infant School is a two form entry community school in the London Borough of Havering. The number of pupils eligible for free school meals is slightly below the national average and the number of pupils from minority ethnic groups is in line with the national average. I was appointed Head Teacher in 2005 after serving as acting Head Teacher for a year. At the time of my appointment the school faced a falling role and had recently been reduced from a three form entry to a two form entry school due to a fall in the local birth rate. A strength at the time of my appointment was a very stable and supportive staff both teaching and non teaching. This continues to be so and is the reason for the success of Whybridge Infant School. All staff are passionate about “Infant” education and have created a calm and stimulating learning environment.
