Standish Lower Ground St Anne’s CE Primary School

Standish Lower Ground St Anne’s CE Primary School is a thriving Christian School with the children at its heart. We have on average 120 children altogether and five classes. Each class has a mix of two year groups which lends itself to a creative and exciting curriculum. I was appointed as headteacher in September 2013 and have begun to build on the strengths whilst addressing other areas for development. The staff have high expectations for all the children and give lots of support to help each child achieve their full potential. St Anne’s opened in 1993 and school numbers have continued to rise since then. The school’s deprivation factor is above national average and still rising, according to the IDACI index score. The percentages of pupils identified as “hard pressed” continues to be high (ACORN data). We are especially proud of the progress made by our SEND children. We have 31% SEND children in our school. Many parents and carers regularly share their praise for our staff in their support in all areas surrounding the holistic care of their children. We have recently achieved the Silver Award for Mental Health and have excellent contacts with many outside agencies who work with school to protect and support our children.
