St Mary’s Catholic Primary School

In March 2014, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School was judged to be ‘Inadequate’ by Ofsted and was placed in ‘Special Measures’.

In June 2015, due to my role as a leader of an ‘Outstanding’ school, I was appointed to lead St Mary’s as the Executive Headmistress. Just eight months later, the school was rated by Ofsted as a ‘Good’ school in all categories.

This is against a backdrop of serving a highly deprived catchment area with perceived barriers to children being able to reach their full potential. Every child at St Mary’s has the opportunity to be prepared for success at secondary school and at university, or in a career of their choice. We seek to encourage the highest standards in academic achievement, social responsibility and personal development in a specifically Catholic environment.
