St. Mary’s C.E. Primary School

St. Mary’s C.E. Primary School is a popular and oversubscribed school situated in the centre of Droylsden on the east side of Manchester. It is a one form entry primary school. It Is situated on a busy main road, taking children from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The majority of the children are from white British backgrounds, with a minority from other cultural and faith backgrounds. Over the last two years this has increased to 15%. The school has very close links with St. Mary’s church and several members of the governing body are foundation governors. The parents are actively involved with the school and there is a very strong PTA which not only organises fundraising events but family and staff nights to enhance the partnership with home and school.
