St Luke’s is a larger than average-sized primary school located in Blakenhall, an area of deprivation in Wolverhampton. There are two classes in each year group, with a 30 place Nursery. Our pupils come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds with over 28 languages in the school and 60% of pupils are EAL, many of our children are at the early stages of learning English, particularly in the younger age groups. The proportion of children with SEND and the number of children who are eligible for Free School Meals are above average. The school has very close links with the local church, St Luke’s and this was recognised in the recent SIAMS (November 2014) in which the school was judged as outstanding.
