St Joseph’s is a Catholic Junior school with 240 pupils, located in Leyton for over 110 years that has faith at its centre. Our mission statement says – “Jesus Christ is the unseen but ever present teacher in our school, our model and inspiration for all who work here.” Over 90% of the pupil population is drawn from minority ethnic groups with the largest groups being from African and Caribbean backgrounds. The school has a higher than national percentage of EAL pupils, Free School Meal pupils and pupils on the SEN register. Pupil stability is high and attendance is outstanding, consistently above 97% and currently the highest in the local authority.
