South Grove is a diverse and exciting learning community. The school’s strength is in its’ inclusive practice, nurturing and developing children from Nursery to Year 6. Our Additional Resourced Provision for Autistic and Global Developmentally Delayed children is testament to our commitment to this. It is a larger than average primary school, with a 40 place Nursery and eighteen children within the Additional Resourced Provision. The school has 89% ethnic groups, over 40 languages spoken and above average SEN provision of 24%.

I joined South Grove as a Consultant Head Teacher in January 2012 to support the school in it’s preparation for an impending Ofsted Inspection (June 2012). After my appointment to substantive Head Teacher, in September 2012 we started in earnest to implement the Ofsted Action Plan, based on all the recognised strengths it had. The school became ‘Requires Improvement’ due to the new Ofsted Categories.
