Shavington Primary School is situated between Nantwich and Crewe within Cheshire East Local Authority. Currently the school is one form entry, however indications are that the school will grow in the next few years.

In April 2013 the school had a Section 5 inspection that placed them into Requires Improvement, from their previous Outstanding rating. This was a huge disappointment to the school and community as there had been no external warning of this being a likely outcome.
