Shakespeare Primary School

In 2009, Shakespeare Primary School opened the doors of a brand new building, following the amalgamation of two local single-form entry primary schools. Karen Menis, the Head teacher, worked proactively ahead of the school’s opening to design a school building and grounds to support 21st Century learning, but also crucially, to build positive relationships between the two Governing Bodies, the staff teams and through a Parents Forum, united members of the parent body and the local community. Setting up a new school with fledgling relationships already in place provided an effective platform to establish daily school routines, a pattern to the school year and to begin to create a legacy of school memories for pupils.
