SET Ixworth School is located in the picturesque village of Ixworth (Suffolk) which is 6 miles from north-east of Bury St Edmunds and just half an hour from Cambridge. SET Ixworth is a small school working with students of all abilities. The School receives additional Pupil Premium Grant funding for 40% of its population; this includes Service Children.
In June 2017 the School was inspected and was rated ‘Requires Improvement’. OfSTED was concerned about the quality of teaching, low level disruption and the lack of rigour around self-evaluation.
In September 2017 a new Headteacher joined the School. He focused on building confidence at every level of the school and on bringing the Trust’s vision to life. A bespoke Professional Development programme was introduced across the School which met the needs of the dedicated and hardworking teaching staff, along with the introduction of additional Pastoral Support workers who have supported students in overcoming barriers to learning. |
