Rothley C of E Primary Academy

We have been a stand-a-lone academy since July 2013. Prior to this we were a voluntary controlled C of E school in Leicestershire. I was appointed to this much-loved school in 2005 which stood on a site dating over 100 years. The school boasted a very stable staffing, everyone loved the school and once there did not want to move. This was noted in my interview by the Diocesan Director of Education who said that most of the staff, including office staff, would be at retiring age within five years. When he asked how I felt about this I am afraid my answer was “out with the old and in with the new”. He laughed and the job was mine.
