Aspiring to be exceptional

I took over as Head of Putteridge Primary toward the end of its first year as a primary school in June 2012. The school had been formed by the amalgamation of the previous infant and junior schools in September (2011).

Although a primary in name, it was not in nature and I therefore set about forging a culture that was strongly primary. Additionally, children’s progress through Key Stage 2 was poor and needed to improve rapidly.
