Plume, Maldon’s Community Academy, enjoys a unique position as the largest school in the district and the only secondary Academy in Maldon. With a roll of over 1700 students (274 in the Sixth Form) situated over three campuses, we have been oversubscribed for at least the last decade.
The Academy has always aspired to be at the heart of the community, which is as distinctive as is the composition of its staff body. Approximately 45% of staff were either students at the school or now live in the immediate locality. At least 25% of the staff have, or have had, children attend the Academy. A not insubstantial number of relatives work side by side in the school. There is a palpable commitment and ‘buyin’ from staff to ensuring that the quality of education provided to the students in this community is at least good or better. Staff have invested in their workplace. |
