Pixmore Junior School

Pixmore junior school is an average-sized junior school with eight single-age classes. The proportion of disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs is broadly average. The proportion of pupils supported by the pupil premium is above average. The school meets the government’s current floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress. There were many staff changes in September 2014, including the appointment of a new leadership team to work with the headteacher.

Ofsted found Pixmore Junior School to be a good school and the headteacher Mrs Alex Evans and the new leadership team work together extremely well. They have ensured rapid improvement in all aspects of the school’s work over the last year. The quality of teaching, learning and assessment has improved over the last two years and is now good. Teachers plan interesting work for pupils.
