Perry Hall Primary School

Perry Hall Primary School, based in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton has over 469 pupils and includes a provision for two-year-old children – Terrific for Two’s.

The journey for Perry Hall began when Amarjit Cheema was appointed as Head Teacher in 2010, and I, Rekha Kohli, joined the team in 2012 as the Deputy Head Teacher, responsible for the development of Early Years.

Time for a Change in Early Years

My appointment to the school was a strategic one as the EYFS provisions were not yet ‘good’. The school found that the intake was shifting due to changes in the socioeconomic backgrounds of children. More and more children joining the school were below the expected level of development and the provision needed to evolve to meet the needs of these children.
