Newton-le-Willows Primary School is a larger than average primary school with 504 on roll, a mixed catchment area and quite a high deprivation indicator, well above national. The school is situated in an area of very high social disadvantage. The school is on the threshold of the highest percentile of free school meals (PP) nationally. It has a very high proportion of pupils benefitting from free school meals which is much higher than schools nationally. The large majority of pupils are from white British backgrounds. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is well above average.
