Milford Junior School

Third time lucky!

I joined Milford Junior School (420 pupils, 16 classes) in 2010. The Headteacher retired and much to my surprise after the appointment process, I became Headteacher. One of the Year Group Leaders in the school was appointed as Deputy Head and SENCo and we looked forward to the start of our new roles in September 2012. It has been a rollercoaster few years with more happening in our first few years of Headship and Deputy Headship than most people experience in longer careers.

I have been incredibly fortunate to have had such a professional and supportive Deputy Headteacher. The commitment and trust of a Deputy Headteacher cannot be underestimated and I believe the professional relationship between members of the SLT is paramount in the success of a school.
