We are a small primary school in an ex-mining County Durham village, with a nursery and children’s centre on our site. We are proud of our community spirit and we strive to enhance life opportunities for everyone in our village.

We encourage children to be creative, unique, open-minded and independent, respectful of themselves and other people. We want children to grow into caring, responsible and tolerant adults who make a positive difference to their own and other people’s lives. We are proud of our Rights Respecting School award and every child understands they have rights and responsibilities. Every child is listened to and empowered to form opinions about their education and life. Recent awards include “Investing in Children “and “ Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence.”
