Kates Hill Primary School

The story so far…

I was appointed Acting Head Teacher of Kates Hill Primary in September 2012. A two form entry school who’s attainment was in the lowest 5% Nationally, had 39% FSM, 75% ethnic minority intake and 85% EAL and had a RAISE Online that was the darkest blue for over 5 years in all areas, there was no Senior Leadership in the school, the Chair of Governors had been a Governor for 3 months (like most of the Governing Body) and noone in the whole school community thought there were any issues with the school. The scene was set…a challenge to improve quickly was the goal; and it had to be quick. The previous Ofsted July 2010 was “Satisfactory” and things had not improved anywhere near quick enough.
