Greenfield E-ACT Academy is a larger than average primary academy with 389 pupils. Over 60% of our pupils are in receipt of Pupil Premium funding and we have higher than average proportions of pupils with special educational needs. The academy also has a specialist provision for pupils with significant emotional and behavioural difficulties.

In 2010 Greenfield had results in the 4+ of less than 40% and was judged to be satisfactory by Ofsted but in real danger of falling in to an inadequate category. In January 2011 a new Headteacher was appointed, Stephen Luke, and significant changes were made to rapidly improve pupil’s standards in the core subjects. This was successful and resulted in Greenfield’s results at the 4+ measure rising to 95% and it being named as the most improved primary school in the country. This was achieved through the redesign of the curriculum, rigorous structures and procedures being adopted and a highly sharpened focus on ensuring consistency across the school. This was addressed whilst also successfully eradicating a deficit in excess of £100 000.
