About Us

Greenbank Primary is a successful and continuously improving school. The school’s location in a leafy suburb of Liverpool does not reflect the ethnic or socio-economic diversity of the school’s population, with many of the school’s pupils travelling from other parts of the city to attend the school. 70% of pupils come from Ethnic Minority groups, with 34% of pupils having English as an additional language. The school intake is statistically identified as having high levels of deprivation, with the percentage of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and/or receiving SEND support higher than national.

The Head teacher Debra Wrigley is currently in her 13th year of headship, taking over at Greenbank which was in its infancy following the amalgamation of an Infant and a Junior school. Under Debra’s leadership, pupil numbers have increased from under 400 pupils to 450+ each year and the school is often over-subscribed, reflecting its excellent reputation and the high regard with which it is held in the local community.
