Gilbert Scott Primary school

Gilbert Scott is an average – sized primary school which provides for pupils mainly in the local area but also for a number who join the school mid-way through a term. Just under of all pupils are of White British origin. Thirty different languages are spoken at the school. There is not a particular dominant ethnic group at the school, however the largest ethnic groups are of Caribbean and African heritage with a growing number of eastern European pupils joining the school in recent years.

It is the school’s aim to provide the best education possible and to see that each child learns at his/her own rate and to his/her maximum potential. In all that we aim to achieve at school, it is important to remember that the best preparation for adulthood is to live fully as a child.
