Forest Hall School in Essex has seen a rapid improvement in achievement since January 2015. In 2013 the key measure of +5A*-C including English and Mathematics stood at 28%. The school had a falling cohort. Later that same year an Interim Executive Board (IEB) was appointed following the dismissal of the governing body. The school also had budgetary constraints because of a falling cohort. The students who were attending were fantastic and most enjoyed coming to school but in January 2015 they were not being challenged in terms of their learning and aspirations were low. On the 1st January 2015 a new acting head teacher was appointed to the school (Stephen Hehir) and on 1st February the school became a sponsored academy under the leadership of BMAT. |
