‘We Can and We Will’
The mantra of a school that has worked hard to become a ‘Good’ school (Ofsted June 2018). Fairburn View Primary school in Airedale, Castleford, West Yorkshire, is based in an area of high unemployment and social deprivation. As such, most pupils enter the school significantly below the average standards of learning. The amalgamation of two schools, it has worked tirelessly to build a new community that is a positive learning experience for each pupil. As well as a challenging amalgamation, the school moved into a ‘Priority Schools Building Project’ school and very quickly staff and pupils had to learn what it meant to be a through primary school. |
