East Herrington Primary Academy

Following a period of consultation East Herrington Primary School converted to Academy status in July 2012. East Herrington Primary Academy is larger than the average size academy of 480 pupils and has a very distinctive ethos promoting a strong atmosphere of care and support for all pupils. East Herrington Primary Academy is truly inclusive and all pupils’ individual needs are considered. We aim to develop the independence of all pupils to prepare them for the next stage of their education.

Compared to national figures an average percentage of pupils are eligible for free school meals and an average percentage registered as SEND. The percentage of pupils who come from minority ethnic groups is low and the level of pupil stability is high. Attainment on entry is below average with the main areas of concern relating to Communication Language and Literacy and Personal Social Development. The leadership and governance is totally committed to raising standards and bringing about continued improvement.
