About Us

Boyton Primary School is a small rural school with a capacity of 56, situated in North Cornwall that has changed rapidly in recent years.

In 2012 at the request of the governing body, the school was placed in special measures and in danger of closing permanently. Numbers were falling and there were only 19 children in the school. Staff morale and poor teaching especially in the Key Stage 2 class were cited by Ofsted as needing rapid improvement.

Acting proactively, the governors sought to secure leadership in co-operation with the Local Authority and other Cornish Schools. Following a series of short term leaders, consistency of an interim Head of School brought stability during the 2012 – 2013 academic year.
