Bentley New Village Primary School

Our school sits, like a beacon of opportunity, in the heart of an incredibly challenged community. When the pit closed in 1993, the community could claim to have loyally served the colliery for nearly a century; its closure left the village with high levels of unemployment and forced the area into becoming a transient community with increasingly high levels of mobility. The school serves one of Doncaster’s most socially deprived areas with most pupils entering school significantly below the average standard of learning.
