Baden Powell Primary School

Baden Powell Primary School is in the heart of the East End of London. We serve a diverse and vibrant community that finds the school with above national averages for disadvantaged pupils, children who have English as a second Language and SEND chidren.

The school had fallen below national expectations in the end of key stage two results and an OFSTED inspection was imminent. The teaching staff had been at the school since qualification and the majority did not have more than three years’ experience of teaching. When I had walked around the school prior to my appointment I had found wonderful children who were not only very polite, but also thirsting for knowledge and exciting learning opportunities. As with us all I put the children at the heart of my drive for improvement.
